Gynecology
Gynecology refers to the practice of preventative, diagnosis, and treatment of conditions related to the female reproductive system. Providers who specialize in this area are known as gynecologists.
Gynecologists perform cancer screenings, pelvic exams, STI testing, disease diagnosis, help with family planning, diagnose and treat issues related to menstruation or menopause, and recommend birth control.
Common conditions that a gynecologist may look for and treat include endometriosis, chronic pelvic pain, sexually transmitted diseases or infections (STD or STI), and vulvar skin conditions.
Women should meet with a gynecologist on a routine schedule that is set between the patient at the provider based on the individual’s unique needs. If you do not already have a provider, the team at Schneck is standing by and ready to help.
