ADD/ADHD Evaluation and Care
Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) are neurological disorders that affect behavior. There is no singular test to detect ADD or ADHD. Providers must monitor a patient’s behaviors and symptoms over a length of time and will work with a patient's family or educators (in the case of children) to understand patterns. ADD and ADHD do not always appear the same from patient to patient, so this monitoring is important for a proper diagnosis.
Once a patient is diagnosed with ADD or ADHD care can be provided. There are medications that can help with the symptoms, but there are also a number of behavior management practices. A provider will make the best recommendation based on the severity and symptoms of the patient.
