Schneck Medical Center is happy to welcome our friends and neighbors on Saturday, April 20 for a health fair featuring free screenings and resources to help you live your best. This event will also feature a schneckWELL Teddy Bear Clinic sponsored by the Schneck Foundation, so bring the kids with you.

SCHNECKWELL HEALTH SCREENINGS

Breast & Cervical Screening*

  • Screening Description: Screening includes a clinical breast exam (not a mammogram) and a cervical exam with a pap test. All exams will be performed by qualified healthcare providers.
  • Recommended for: Women 21 years and older who have not had a breast or cervical exam during the last three years and are uninsured and underinsured. This screening is not intended to be a replacement or substitution for regular visits to a physician.
  • Cost: FREE
  • Location: Level 4, Schneck Professional Building
  • Time: 7-11 am
  • Preregistration: Appointment required. SCREENING IS FULL. REGISTRATION IS CLOSED FOR THIS SCREENING.
  • *Per the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services regulations, individuals with Medicare, Medicaid, or similar replacement plans are not eligible for free screenings held during this event. Clinical Breast Exams and Cervical screenings are a covered benefit under these plans, and may be performed or ordered by the patient’s physician of choice.

Prostate Screening

  • Screening Description: Screening is an early detection test, which includes a free digital rectal examination (DRE)*. For those interested, a prostate specific antigen (PSA) blood test will be offered for a reduced cost at the Schneck Lab booth.
  • Recommended for: Men 55 to 69 years of age who have not had a PSA blood test or DRE within the past 12 months. And, for men 54 and younger at high risk which includes African Americans and those with a family history. This screening is not intended to be a replacement or substitution for regular visits to a physician.
  • Cost: Digital Rectal Examination-Free, Prostate Specific Antigen Blood Test-$30
  • Location: Level 4, Schneck Professional Building
  • Time: 7-11 am
  • Preregistration: Registration is now closed. Walk-ins may be available.

Blood Draws

  • Cost: See below for reduced-rate pricing. Payment for blood testing will be accepted at the event. Cash or check only.
  • Comprehensive Metabolic Profile + A1c (includes Glucose and Total Cholesterol) $45 Fasting is recommended for this test (water only) at least 8 hours prior. This test provides 23 results including hemoglobin A1c (measures average blood glucose level over last 3 months), cholesterol (LDL and HDL), triglycerides (blood fats), electrolytes, blood sugar, liver health, kidney function and more.
  • Prostate specific antigen (PSA): $30
  • Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH): $30
  • Glucose and Total Cholesterol only: Free - This option should NOT be chosen if you are getting the Comprehensive Metabolic Panel. These tests are included in the Panel.

  • Preregistration: Registration is now closed. Walk-ins may be available.

Colorectal Cancer Screening

  • Screening Description: ColoCare is the leading at-home fecal occult blood test for detecting pre-symptomatic bleeding caused by gastrointestinal diseases.
  • Recommended for: Screening guidelines by age: 45-75 — colonoscopy every 10 years for average-risk patients. 76-85 — selective testing based on individual factors, such as overall health, life expectancy, and previous screening history. 85 and up — not recommended. This screening is not intended to replace a regular physician's examination or other diagnostic procedures.
  • Cost: FREE
  • Location: Endoscopy booth. Level 1, Schneck Professional Building
  • Time: 7-11 am

Adult and Pediatric Vaccinations

  • Offered by the Indiana Immunization Coalition (IIC), vaccines help your body create protective antibodies—proteins that help it fight off infections. By getting vaccinated, you can protect yourself and also avoid spreading preventable diseases to others in your family and in your community.
  • All who participate in the clinic will be vaccinated with CDC-recommended vaccines. IIC will consult the state immunization registry to assess the immunization needs of each individual.

  • Cost: Please bring your insurance cards. IIC accepts and bills all insurance (commercial, Medicare, Medicaid). There is no cost to those without insurance, except for the Shingles vaccine. Medicare may require a co-pay for the Shingles vaccine.

  • Preregistration: Preregistration is highly recommended and is available at https://patients.vaxcare.com/registration - the Enrollment Code for this event is IN65942. Choose schneckWELL Comm Fair-4/20 as the location. Walk-ins the day of the clinic are also welcome.

Pharmaceutical Take-Back

Drop off your old and unused medications with our Schneck Pharmacy booth on Level 1. Keep these potentially dangerous items out of our environment and the wrong hands by safely disposing of them at the schneckWELL Community Health Fair.

schneckWELL Teddy Bear Clinic

The schneckWELL Teddy Bear Clinic is a fun opportunity for children to explore the schneckWELL Community Health Fair and to learn about medical checkups, equipment and procedures as they take care of their new Teddy Bear friend. Best suited for children ages 3-10. Children will receive a teddy bear to take home.
