Schneck held its fourth annual Evidence-Base Practice Poster Symposium. The Symposium is an opportunity for nurses to display projects they are working on to improve the care provided to patients.

This year, first place was awarded to the Labor and Delivery Unit for a project on using nitrous oxide for labor pain relief. Second place was awarded to the Operating Room for a project on changing cleaning agents for hysterectomy patients prior to surgery to reduce surgical site infections. Third place was awarded to the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit for a project on reducing post-operative nausea and vomiting for patients having gallbladder removal. In addition, a people’s choice award was voted on by all who attended the symposium and was awarded to the Cancer Center for a project on decreasing fatigue in cancer patients.
