Schneck CEO Named One of 80 Rural Hospital CEOs to Know
Eric Fish, MD, MBA, FACOG, President and CEO of Schneck Medical Center, has been named one of the “80 Rural Hospital CEOs to Know” by Becker’s Hospital Review. The list highlights top executives from rural hospitals across the nation.
Dr. Fish and Kyle Bennett, President and CEO of Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, were the only CEOs named in Indiana.
“Rural hospitals are critical to the success of the U.S. healthcare system to expand access to care in remote areas. CEOs at the helm of these important community institutions have many responsibilities to make sure their hospitals thrive,” states Becker’s. “The executives featured on this list have put their heart and soul into ensuring their communities have access to the best healthcare services possible. While rural hospitals across the country have faced closure in recent years, these leaders have developed a model for not only surviving, but thriving.”
Individuals on the list include CEOs and administrators of hospitals located outside of major metropolitan areas or healthcare hubs. The Becker’s Review editorial team selected leaders through a review process where a number of factors were considered, including awards received; local, regional, and national leadership positions held; and the organization’s performance.
